Enduring Free Post Service to Operational theatres The Enduring free packet service has been authorised for Op TELIC, Op HERRICK and HM Ships in Support. The enduring free service will operate until further notice. Family & friends in UK & BFPOs can send packets up to 2Kg in weight free of charge to Op TELIC, Op HERRICK and HM Ships in support only. Please note that there is NO Parcel Service to Op TELIC, Op HERRICK and HM Ships in support. However, small boxes can be sent (shoe box size is ideal) as long as they weigh under 2Kgs. No, please be advised that an item of mail up to the maximum weight of 2Kgs can be sent to named personnel only. Due to the surge of mail during the freepost period to these operational areas BFPO does not wish to delay personal mail to loved ones by accepting mail to unnamed personnel. Please telephone the BFPO Enquiries team for further information. Q. Why is mail restriced to named individuals? A. While Royal Mail and BFPO recognises the desire of individuals to support troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, the freepost scheme is specifically intended to support the families and friends of servicemen and women serving on entitled operations only. Well wishers remain able to send goodwill messages to these theatres via other BFPO services including the use of EBluey and the Bulletin Board. Forces Free Air Letters (FFALs) FFALs, commonly known as 'Blueys', can be posted into a standard postbox in the United Kingdom or BFPO postbox overses.
Posting Items usign the Forces Free Mail Service to Op TELIC, Op Herrick and HM Ships in Support Customers who are posting Letters, Cards and Packets up to 2kg in weight using the Enduring Free Mail Service to Op TELIC, Op HERRICK and HM Ships in support must ensure that these items are physically handed over a counter clerk at a UK Crown/Sub Post Office or overseas British Forces Post Office. Please note that there is NO Parcel Service to Op TELIC, Op HERRICK nor HM Ships in support. However, small boxes can be sent (shoe box size is ideal) as long as they weigh under 2Kgs.
